more of a need, than a wish

Same old, same old,
but it didn't suit me.
not so much the look,
but the overall style.

Not much had changed,
on the outside,
but a lot of things had happened
and the time was ripe.

They say
"you are , what you wear"
and they might be right,
but I still wanted to be me,
just with a different look,
a different way
of carying myself.

I thought it was time,
to carry my heart with me,
not to wait,
till it would say "hi"
(due to somebody else).

I changed clothes,
I changed my day.
Carried out the trash,
threw the old stuff away,
looked at memories
(planning to build new ones),
and changed my view
(a whole change of perspective).

Now look at me,
same old, same old,
but on my way
to something new
and isn't that beautiful?

A smile here,
a few kind words there,
time for myself,
time to live,
where once I had haste
I now have peace.

Got a suit,
got some cool stuff.
Found a new way of doing things,
found a new way to think,
found a different goal
on the same old road.

Same old ,same old
but somehow
everything's different
and that's all I need.
