Description:

Within kink and BDSM circles we often talk about “edge play”, or to play with somebody’s edge... but what exactly does that even mean? An edge in this context is usually referencing a person’s boundary - it's about balancing on the fine line that separates respecting and crossing this boundary. Edge play does not necessarily have to be about crossing, but about approaching, teasing, threatening, caressing, and caring for a boundary. But this is all still very vague! And because boundaries are always evolving and different for individuals in different moments in life, playing at the edge of somebody’s boundary is a quite complicated and delicate process - and perhaps exactly that makes such kind of play particularly appealing? Let’s discuss!


During this evening, we will first view two short films together:


• Episode 3 of the PURE Kink Documentary on Switching & Edge Play
• My Element Water


Afterwards we will have a facilitated discussion around the broad term edge play which is a main topic in both films. The discussion will be led and supported by people who have participated in the film productions: Saara Rei, Anna Lysee, and Swen Brandy.. By unpacking and shining a light on the field of edge play together, we hope to gain (more) insight, depth and understanding of this edgy topic for all involved.

PURE Kink Documentary, Episode 3, Switching & EdgePlay

Saara and Anna get together on a sunny summer afternoon in a Berlin flat to indulge their passion. Gummy bears, plastic bananas and plush toys play just as big a role as knives, ropes and nipple clamps.
Along the way, they talk about their experiences in and attitudes towards BDSM. They talk about power relations and role definitions, about relationships and orientations, about preferences and emotions - and about how all of this relates to their lives.

This documentary allows you to participate in both aspects of this encounter - the theoretical conversations and the practical implementation.

MY ELEMENT WATER - A documentary about a swimmer seeking challenges in her comfort element

The 25-year-old Madame A was a former long distance competive swimmer. Connected with water since she can remember, she now seeks to find her boundaries in the nurture of something so familiar. As breathing was the first thing she was taught to learn, she now meets for a challenge where it‘s being taken away. Her experience is reflected in an additional interview.
