1st Regensburg Shibari-Workshop-Weekend with Peter Soptik –
Overpowering with ropes / sadistic bondage

Peter Soptik (http://soptikshibari.com/) will visit us here in Regensburg at the 18th and 19th of January 2020 for a 2-day intensive workshop weekend.

Peter is a bondage teacher and event organizer (e.g. Praque Shibari Festival). After ten years of self-education, he met Kinoko Hajime who became his first teacher of Japanese bondage. Afterwards, his tying was shaped by Osada Steve and Kanna; however, Kinoko Ryu is still his first choice for most of his rope partners. A year later, he started teaching regular bondage workshops and has kept this hobby till today. In the meantime, he met two other teachers who influenced him greatly. The first was Yoroi Nicolas who taught him movement, intimacy, and simplicity in ropes. The second and the most influential was Riccardo Wildties. He introduced Peter to Naka Ryu. The more he studied with Riccardo and Naka Akira, the more he fell in love with this style.

In recent years teaching ropes and organizing foreign teachers’ visits has become almost Peter‘s part-time job. He loves to teach topics he‘s passionate about, such as predicaments and sadistic, overpowering, and dynamic ways of tying, breath play, and many others.


The workshop:

Overpowering with ropes (day 1)

Overpowering, subjugation, and domination are common erotic fantasies. This workshop will help you introduce them into your rope play. It is not easy to overpower playful resistance in a sensual and safe manner. Hence, we explore body contact, mild confrontation with your partner, and direct physical domination that does not necessarily require using one’s strength. A rope is like an extension of your arms that helps you overpower, immobilize, and control your rope bottom. This workshop is not about play-fighting or wrestling. You will not learn how to knock-out your fully resisting partner.

Sadistic bondage (day 2)

Do you enjoy pain? This hands-on class explores the possibilities of inflicting pain with ropes in easy and straightforward ways. You will not only learn how to give direct pain using ropes but different ways to be a sadistic rigger. Thereby, you will learn how to bring your partner to their limits in a controlled way.


Requirements / basic information

The workshop language is English!

The workshop will take place at two days (Saturday and Sunday) for 6h (+1h of lunch break), each. It will start at 11 a.m. and will go until 6 p.m. in the evening.

Please note: This is not a beginners workshop! Hands-on knowledge about basic and advanced tying techniques such as reasonable suspension experience and TK, etc., is required.

You will need a minimum of 8 pieces of rope (jute or hemp) of approx. 8 m of length. For excercises with suspension / semi-suspension, you will need the necessary equipment (suspension ring, carabines, slings, etc.). The height of the ceiling is 3.2 m. The studio provides us with very thin yoga mats (0.5 mm) but feel free to bring your own.

Switching (i.e. changing of roles) during the workshop is not allowed. Thus, one person does the tying, the other gets tied.

Every rigger and model is responsible for themselfs and for their partner. The instructors and organizers are not liable for any damages / injuries.

Location: Regensburg (City center). Distance to the railway station is approx. 10 min of walking. You will get the exact adress after confirmation of your registration.
Required knowledge: Basic to advanced level of tying techniques (see above).
Dress code: Comfy clothes for tying. Models should not wear bras with metal parts.

Costs: 350 € per couple for both days or 175€ per couple for individual days. This is the maximal price to cover our costs. All money we didn’t spend for the weekend will be distributed evenly among the participants after the workshop.

Registration and cancellation policy: Every couple that transfers the workshop fee on time have a fixed spot. Please note: Cancellation is only possible if there is another couple to take your place!
