The Gasoliners feat. Hammerlock - Lünen (30.04.2014)
Tanz in den Mai - the Greif Style!
The Gasoliners, die Lokalmatadore in Sachen Punk'n'Roll bringen für diese Konzertparty Hammerlock aus den Staaten mit - eine Rock'n'Roll Show der Extraklasse...

The Gasoliners:

As HAMMERLOCK enters 17 years of existence I can’t help but think not a damn thing has changed about us. We have been mixing genre’s into a lethal musical Molotov cocktail of 70′s rock, 80′s hardcore, and shit kickin’ country for over a decade and a half. we have released six full length records a hand full of seven inches, appeared on numerous comps, and one ten inch split. we have had the good fortune of working with many great indie labels such as MANN’S RUIN,TKO, Baloney Shrapnel, proud to be an Idiot, Steel Cage and Devil Shit Burner. In 2010 we launched our own indie label COLORADO MOUNTAIN GOAT records. CMGR’s first release and HAMMERLOCK’s latest and best release thus far was “LET THE BAD TIMES ROLL” in my opinion the album really captured the mood for us and many Americans as well as people all over the world these last three very troubling years. Hopefully these next few years will improve and we can make an album about good times.

Bad times aside the one positive thing that has occurred is the absolute freedom we have experienced in self releasing a record. Doing everything our way and holding every aspect of a record to the highest standards was along time coming for us. we finally have a release that we can look at and know that we wouldn’t change a thing. This will be the way HAMMERLOCK releases records from here on out. It’s all on us no label to blame or take the credit and that’s the way we like it. So expect alot more from CMG records. new Hammerlock songs are being written as we speak. No concrete recording dates just yet but we will keep you posted. also be on the lookout for HAMMERLOCK classics being re-released in 2011. We also have some new videos on utube checkout wrong side of town and born lucky.

2009 HL left the shores of the USA for the first time ever. We did several shows in the UK and mainland Europe and we found that a Guinness in the UK was almost as good as a cold Coors in the Rockies. And that sharing the stage with SAXON,UFO,MOTORHEAD, MAD SIN, MOTOR CITY ANGELS, and SEVEN CROWNS wasn’t half bad either. Driveing on the wrong side of the road and Shifting with your left hand with no sleep and a hangover was even bearable when we knew that we had fish and chips waiting at the end of the drive.Like to thank all those who helped with the 2009 tour. Knowing that we couldn’t last another year without some proper English blood-pudding SEVEN CROWNS invited us back to England for a fall 2010 tour John and the boys took damn good care of us and we did fun shows all over the jewel in the sea, played the Brum punk picnix shared the Stage with GBH in there home town no less. We played live in Leeds even though I mistook it for York after a couple of beers with the PLYTE. Then we headed over to Wales to play a bad ass show with 33 a brutal band with ex members of “the DUKES OF NOTHING” sang along as they belted out a cover of the NEGATIVE APPROACH classic “NOTHING” after our last show in England a Red and White event in Colby an old viking town in the middle of England we had sixteen hours to drive to Darmasat Germany to play our first show ever in that on time and efficient country. Rough water on the English channel and a rainstorm in Germany could not stop HAMMERLOCK and we made the show in enough time to have some local beer and hearty dumplings before hitting the stage. After a warm welcome we got a couple hours of sleep and it was back on the autobahn to head to our last show of the tour in Antwerp Belgium. In may 2011 we played some shows in Colorado and the Pacific Northwest.

We should be running wild all over the US by late summer early fall 2011. We haven’t played down south since 2008 and a trip to Dixie is way overdue.

Well that should catch everyone up on what HAMMERLOCK has been doing for the last couple of years. If you need to get caught up on the last sixteen years our music will tell the story. you can buy our new stuff directly from us or for older releases go to itunes or Amazon. I’d like to take a minute to thank everyone who has helped us in these last two very transitional years. Bucks, Joshua Bowen, Scott Cooksy, Scott L, Jermey and Brandy, John and Seven Crowns, SpekyPsycholoco,WaltWheat Before I Hang, Shawn at Oakland Screen Print, Mike at PPress, Doug and Jo Dalziel, Ben in Wales, Jill, Jeff Clayton, Joe Young, Ian and Sara, all the Pyrate Punks, Pyrate Cat Radio, Joe Frankie, Mike Honeyman, Brian Wenzel and lbro, and anyone else we might have forgot.

It had been almost 15 years since we began playing our mix of 80′s hardcore , 70′s rock and every kind of country music. Looking back, not a whole lot has changed… not in our belief’s and not in our sound. From the beginning in 1995 we were not a band looking for a sound or an identity. We knew where we stood on both counts. We never swayed in any direction from our first release the ‘Knock Her Out’ 7inch in 1996 on Mans Ruin Records to our latest recording which was done 02-28-09 and 03-01-09 our sound has stayed consistently Hammerlock.

We have always enjoyed what we do and whether the rest of the world felt the same way or not…we never let that affect what we were doing, and we have done a lot. A hand full of southwest of tours by van, enough northeast and southeast fly in shows to give the most seasoned traveler jet lag. They have seen us in the Pacific northwest in two different decades and two different millenniums. Lets not forget our Local shows, which have been some of our best. We have met a lot of people and made a lot of Friends playing in the Bay Area. We’ve played the Rumblers Car Club SF “Night of the Living Sleds“ a staggering 7 years straight. We’ve played the second, third and fourth Dirtbag Challenge. The founder of the Dirtbag Challenge Wendell Jones once told me that HAMMERLOCK and some of our Friends helped inspire the creation of the Dirtbag Challenge. People have come and gone from our local shows but one thing has not changed, they have always been fun and rowdy with an interesting mix of people.

Our latest studio masterpiece (if i may say so myself and thank a few Friends)] will be our 6Th full length release in addition to several seven inches, a ten inch, and a hand full of comp appearances. All of the early full length releases have been reissued at least once. We were the only West Coast band to be inducted in to the C.O.S.

We have played with some great and legendary bands

ANTiSEEN, Hellstomper, Cocknoose, Roller, The Wreched Ones, Rancid Vat, Lime Cell, The Jabbers, HIT & RUN, ZEKE, JOE BUCK, BEFORE I HANG, Queens of the Stoneage, THE HOOKERS, REO SPEEDEALER, ALTAMONT, ACID KING, UNIDA, Turbo Negro, FU MANCHU, BUCK CHERRY, Flogging Molly, The Lewd, Papa Roach, CHANELL 3, Hammercocks, The Forgotton, THE ADZ, The Bodies, The Stitches, BONECRUSHER, HONKY, FRACAS, The Bulmics,The Mentors, MURDER JUNKIES, Bob Wayne, Lisa Miller and Her Kin and many many more!

We’ve had a damn good time and our music speaks for itself and states our case better than anything I could put down in type. We are going to keep making our music our way regardless of what anybody else thinks. Hope you like it and if you don’t…it’s not illegal for you to have bad taste.
